I am overjoyed to share that “In the Trenches” is featured in the spring issue of Phil Lit Journal. The theme is “A Question of Care; Ethics, empathy, and the burden of tenderness”. My essay reveals the heart-opening and heartbreaking journey of teaching in the late 1980’s. Since then, the teaching profession has become even more challenging as the demands of caring for our nation’s children becomes intertwined with educating them.
For the sake of our teachers and future generations, it is vital to understand that while educators can greatly influence their students, our society plays a much larger role in how their lives will unfold.
Please share this essay with those who might feel seen and supported as teachers, educators, and caregivers.
